F0012 – Olympic Village, Vancouver, BC

 Tap & Barrel

Scott C. Mitchell, Project Architect and Associate @ Francl Architecture

The first Tap & Barrel, the brainchild of Daniel Frankel, is located on the False Creek Seawall in the heart of Vancouver’s Olympic Village. Created from a shell space designed as part of Vancouver Parks Creekside Community Centre building, the 2 level restaurant with 2 levels of patios, offers breathtaking views of Downtown Vancouver and the North Shore Mountains.  Design and coordination of the kitchen, bars, washrooms, and back of house were eclipsed by the planning and permitting of the extended lower patio – obtaining the CoV permits and approvals was challenging but has become one of Vancouver’s most popular patios.
